Welcome To The Purple Stitcher!
I love sewing and being creative, having tried a few different types of sewing, my preference is definitely for dressmaking. I have made a wide variety of garments over the years and thought I’d like to start a blog to share my creations, tips and techniques that I’ve developed.
As purple is most definitely my favourite colour then The Purple Stitcher seemed like a good choice for a blog name.
This is just a quick post to saw hello to everyone and introduce my new blog. Please bear with me as I’ve never written a blog before, so it’ll probably take me a while to get settled into this blogging malarkey!
It’s not my first time at writing though. Over the past few years I’ve written articles and reviews for Fiona over at The Sewing Directory, a great resource for anyone who loves stitching, so please do go over there and have a look at her fab website.
Congratulations on setting up your new blog. I live on Wirral too, in Egremont. You were brave starting the Liverpool Sewing club, do you have a lot of members. Unfortunately, I can’t join as evenings aren’t good for me, but it’s nice to knoe it’s there.
I’ll keep an eye out for your next post♡
Thanks Louise, it’s good to hear from another local stitcher! Have had a nose round your blog, your embroidery & hand stitching is beautiful. We have a few regulars at Liverpool Sewing Club & get up to a dozen members. Shame you can’t do evenings, maybe one day though! 🙂
Try Sewing for the Apparel Industry by Claire Shaeffer. It’s not the clearest book, but it’s the best one I’ve seen so far, and it does have a lot of intormfaion. We used it in the first sewing classes at my college when I was studying fashion design. You might try signing up for a sewing class at a place like Joann Fabrics or Hancock Fabrics.
Welcome to the bloggy world!!
Thanks, I’m all excited now
Found you! Love your Blog Beth, look forward to seeing some of your projects.
